Clinical Mentoring

Clinical mentoring is a vital element of professional growth throughout a therapist career and it's important that all therapists have access to this - even when there is not an experienced clinician on the team. Clinical mentoring provides the opportunity to ask questions about your caseload, seek advice on managing workload expectations, and brainstorm ideas to help your clients achieve their goals.

Areas that can be supported through clinical mentoring include:

  • Caseload management

  • Understanding and improvement documentation, including progress notes and report writing

  • Goal setting

  • Information gathering and assessment

  • Navigating tricky conversations with peers or clients

  • Developing skills for evidence-based practice

  • Developing clinical reasoning skills

  • Debriefing after challenging situations or sessions that didn't go to plan
